1. A Guide For JEE Aspirants Of all the creative souls, engineers are the most creative ones. Engineering is one of the most sought after profession in the entire world. The modern society’s requirements have paved way for thousands of engineers, required in various paths of life. To be an engineer in India, you have to clear JEE. JEE is the best way to be an engineer in India, if not the only way. Due to its high competition, clearing the JEE is a tough battle. But what battle is tough when you have wonderful guidance and have the patience and perseverance in yourself to achieve your goal? JEE Structure and Exam Pattern: The JEE exam is conducted in 2 stages. The first stage is JEE Mains. On clearing JEE Mains, a student becomes eligible to take admission in all engineering college based on merit, except in IITs. The 2nd stage is the JEE Advanced, where students who have cleared JEE Mains compete amongst themselves to get their seat in the IITs. The JEE Mains is a 300 mark test with a total of 75 questions (MCQ), with 25 question from every section – Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry. The test lasts for 180 minutes. 4 marks are awarded for a correct answer and 1 mark is deducted for each wrong answer. If you qualify the JEE Mains, you are eligible to sit in the JEE Advanced Examination. The JEE Advanced is also a 180 minute exam, where the aspirants have to appear two papers- each paper has 3 sections( Physics, Chemistry and Math)

2. Challenges faced by JEE aspirants: The JEE examination consists of three subjects-physics, chemistry and Mathematics. Its cut throat competition makes it a formidable examination, where only the best ones pass out with flying colours. Every year lakhs of students appear in this test but very few ones make it to their destination. JEE syllabus covers both 11th and 12th class course. This makes a voracious syllabus to cover in 2 years, with your intermediate classes going on side by side. Students find it difficult to manage time between their regular intermediate course and JEE preparation. This results in tremendous pressure for the aspirants and many back out. Many also succumb to the pressure and end up in bad numbers in JEE and their Board exams likewise. So, proper guidance becomes a must for aspirants. Physics and math’s, which have vast, but easy, concepts becomes a nightmare for the students if proper focus is not given or if proper practice is not done. Systematic Approach: The basic most things to do are to know your syllabus thoroughly. It’s the smallest yet one of the most crucial tasks which mentally prepare you for the big battle of life. Creating a study time table which will create a sense of seriousness and discipline in yourself is the next big task. In the end, practice makes a man perfect. You have to revise your strong areas and give more time to your weaker areas in the syllabus. Concept clarity: You must be clear in the basic concepts so that you can apply them while solving problems. This can be achieved only by solving varieties of related problems on the basic concept. This will boost your confidence.

Also, physics has to be the main center of concept clarity, because on missing even small concepts, you create tremendous problems for yourself. Doubt clearing: While preparing for JEE, you can’t afford to be ignorant. You must solve all your doubts as soon as possible. People who ignore the basic concepts in 11th often find themselves in trouble in the 2nd year. In traditional classroom coaching, giving individual time for doubt solving is next to impossible. So aspirants usually prefer coaching classes for swift guidance and doubt clearing. Time management: Students find it difficult to manage time between their class room coaching and the JEE preparation. Often, they get too engrossed in their studies in the starting but soon lose the seriousness in the long run. Moreover, proper division of time is crucial. Subjects like physics, which offers too many concepts and theories often require more attention from students. Students should go through self analysis and find out their strong and weak areas in the syllabus. Mock tests conducted by coaching classes are a great way to self analyse.
