Tryout Dates • All teams will be selected. • March 2-6 from 5:30pm-8pm in the Old Gym. • NOTE: We will begin at 4pm and may dimiss a little later onFriday. Girl’s will need to remain at tryouts until dismissed. • Teams will be posted at the duration of tryouts. Time-TBA
Eligibility • Varsity Football/Competition - 9th-12th graders, according to skill • JV Football - 10th graders only • Freshman Football - 9th graders only • Varsity Basketball - 11th - 12th graders only • JV Basketball - 9th - 10th graders only
Requirements • Cheer/Chant • Dance • Jumps • (toe touch and pike or hurdler) • Positive Attitude • Everyone must wear solid shirt and shorts everyday. Additionally, you must wear black shorts and a white shirt for the actual try-out.
Additional Requirements for Varsity Football/Competition: • Mile Run- under 8 minutes Running tumbling minimum: • Round-off, handspring, layout Standing tumbling minimum: • Triple-toe back *It is strongly encouraged that participants interested in JV football cheerleading have a standing tuck as well.
Available Spots Spots will be filled according to skill level. • Varsity Football/Comp: 18-20 • Varsity Basketball: 12-16 • JV Football: 12-16 • JV Basketball: 12-16 • Freshman Football: 12-16
South Forsyth Cheerleading Expectations • PARTICIPANTS MUST ATTEND ALL TRY-OUT DATES!* • Attend all choreography sessions. • Participate in all fundraisers and community service activities. • Maintain high academic standards. • Participate in all pre/post-game activities and preparations. • Attend all games and practices. • Participate in all playoff games regardless of holidays and All-star Cheerleading. • Comply with All-star policy. • Reflect a positive image at all times.
Date Obligations • Tryouts: March 2-6 in the old gym. • Team meetings the following week. First payment will be due. • All games and practices. • Additional meetings may be called to paint signs or organize fundraisers.
Approximate Cost Obligations • Varsity Football/Comp ~ $1,200.00 • First payment $500.00 due March 10. • Varsity Basketball ~ $500.00 • JV Football ~ $500.00 • JV Basketball ~ $500.00 • Freshman Football ~ $500.00

Cheer Clinic • What? An opportunity for upcoming 8th and 9th graders to learn SFHS chants and dances. • Who? Will be taught by current SFHS Varsity Cheerleaders • How much? $25.00 per person • When? Saturday February 21, 2009 from 8:30-11:30 • Application and $ due by Friday Feb. 13, 2009 to Stephanie VanSlyke. • Make checks payable to SFHS Cheer Booster Club. Disclaimer: Just because you attend or help with the clinic DOES NOT guarantee you a spot on the team.
