  1. WHAT IS A SENTENCE? Sentence is a group of words with a subject and a predicate and expresses a complete thought. 1) Although the cat pounced. 2) The mouse ran away. Although the cat pounced, the mouse ran away.

  3. COMPLEX SENTENCE (subordinate clauses(s)) Has one or more dependent clause(s) combined with an independent clause and Introduced by Subordinating conjunction. INDEPENDENT CLAUSE +subordinating conjunction + DEPENDENT CLAUSE I want to go home because I do not feel well. (It can stand alone) (It can not stand alone) (Main/Principal Clause)
