  1. Visibility Is Often A Good Starting Point For Success Many businesses rely on visibility, on being seen, for their success, especially those that are aimed at public participation whether you sell goods or services or whether you promote the ideas of an organization. Visibility immediately promotes the marketer or business to those they want to engage in. This is true for the A-frame signat your shop, the corner cafe or the entrance to your child’s school function. Being noticed sends people, the buying public and others in the right direction. The person looking for their doctor, their dentist or restaurant wants a sign to lead them; hence the need for great signage. This applies in all spheres. Think, for example, of the business that exhibits at a trade fair or show, or the band that plays at an open-air concert – or the organizers of a big sports event. They all need great signs to draw in the buyers, the crowds. Many rely on big banners, for example. These – the banners – are great to show attendees at a show or fair the way to where they need to be whether that is the start of a cycle race, or the booth that sells IT equipment, or clothes, or farm implements. Banners are very effective because they often tend to be bigger than the A-frame at your shop, or the sign at the entrance to your business, for example. Some of these banners, depending on where they are to be used, can be truly large. Think, for example, of the banner that is put up where a bunch of runners or cyclists start – or end their race. Or a banner at other events such as concerts, agricultural shows, or banners you put up to direct the crowds from the entrance of an open-air event. They are used everywhere, for business reasons in small towns, villages or bigger centers; they are used to inform, to show the way –to advertise someone’s business or event. In order to come up with a great banner, there are indeed certain issues and aspects to be considered. It is of no use if you come up with an unimpressive design or cheap material, bad information and sub- standard features related to your banner. Certain ideas are always important for a great banner, some of which are mentioned here below: First of all, make sure you have permission to put up your banner, find out what size is allowed, when it may go up and when it has to be taken down. This may sound straightforward, and it is, but make sure of this simple requirement. Get a good service to design and make your banner for you. A sub-standard banner may do more harm than good to your image and reputation. Good, experienced designers and manufacturers offer knowledge and experience, especially if they have come up with banners for other clients in the past. They understand all issues related to designs that are aligned to your campaign or effort or specific purpose for the banner. Get involved as much as possible and work with them.

  2. Help your designer choose layout, colors, placement of logos, copy and detail such as names and numbers, for example. A good designer will always have great ideas, often based on past and similar campaigns and banners. The above gives an idea of the main requirements when you’re planning your banner – or other signs for that matter. Most businesses will probably agree that visibility goes a long way towards getting in the buyers, the clients – the crowds at big events. Ultimately it depends on great signage, on approaching a good signage service provider, one with good experience and a great name in their industry.
