I will show what my favorite stories are by voting for them. • Using either an iPad or your phone go to http://gtenglish.weebly.com/malevolent-ink.html and read stories. • Please don’t vote until you have read all the stories in a particular category. • You may vote for stories at all grade levels. • Reminder: Bring your JOV book tomorrow.

Reminders of new roles. • WU: Fill in a bingo page with words from JOV unit 3, page 18. Extra words: BIBLIOPHILE, CLAUSTROPHOBIA, ACROPHOBIA, MONOMANIA • Intro JOV Unit 3 and play Bingo. • Begin work on assignment, parts CDE. Work alone first and then with a partner. • Closure: multi, uni, poly, mono • HW: JOV Unit 3 due Wednesday.

  3. Wednesday, October 25Today’s Objective: Today I will learn to recognize different types of pronouns in order to be able to use them correctly. I will do this by sorting cards by type and by playing a game. • WU: Sort pronoun cards into categories. • Journal – Use one of each type of pronoun; underline them. • Closure: Share two sentences with pronouns in them with a partner. • HW: JOV 3 CDE due tomorrow

  4. Personal – These pronouns replace name of specific people and things. • I, me, we, us • You • he, she, him, her • They, them • it

  5. Possessive – These pronouns show ownership. • My, mine, our • Your, yours • his, hers • Their, theirs • its • Note: These pronouns do not use apostrophes!

  6. Reflexive – These pronouns “flex” your muscles! • myself • yourself • himself, herself • Themselves (theirselves is incorrect) • itself

  7. Indefinite– These pronouns do not refer to specific people. • All, some, any, none • Both, many, few, several • Everybody, everything, everyone • No one, nobody, nothing • Somebody, something • Anybody, anything, anyone • each • Either, neither

  8. Interrogative– These pronouns are used to ask questions. • Who, whose, whom

  10. Pronoun Case & Sentence Patterns • Nominative Case a.k.a. Subject Case • Used for subjects • Used for predicate nouns S-LV-PN A subject pronoun makes sense at the start of a simple sentence: ____ ran. • Objective Case • Used after action verbs and prepositions S-AV-IO-DO Object pronouns CAN NOT be used at the start of a simple sentence.
