    4. All staff members have tickets to give out Students keep tickets in their “bank” in their classroom. Some teachers have them keep them in a baggie at their desk, others have library card pockets velcroed to posterboard and each pocket has a student’s name on it (this way the students can just pull their pocket off and take it to the store) All staff members have tickets to give out Students keep tickets in their “bank” in their classroom. 6. SPECIAL POWER STORES – FREE TO US! December was before holiday break, May was after spring break, so staff would have time to do “spring cleaning” and find items to donate, also because it was close to Mother’s Day SPECIAL POWER STORES – FREE TO US! 9. Classroom compliments and rewards: Use as part of your classroom behavior plan When the entire class does well, give them a compliment and add something to your class jar/chart/poster/etc. When the entire class gets a compliment from another staff member you add something to your class jar/chart/poster/etc. Build a reward system for when the students earn a certain number of compliments Each teacher can create their own system All staff should try to compliment other classes Thunderbird Awards: The Thunderbird award is an award that is given once a month. The classroom teacher will nominate one to three students who have shown outstanding behavior that month. The selected students’ names will be announced in the morning assembly and they will get their picture take with the other Thunderbird Award winners. They will receive a certificate and the group picture will go up in the hallway for everyone to see! Morning Assembly Respect Chart: We added this later in the year, due to students’ negative behavior in the morning assembly (8:20-8:50) The letters RESPECT a that top (make the columns) and there are 4 rows of boxes under each letter. Morning assembly supervisors pick a few classes each day that are showing respect and following the expectations in the morning. They pick a student in the class to come up and choose a box for their teacher’s name. On Friday during morning assembly, the supervisor draws a letter (RESPECT) out of a bucket and the classes in the column will get a star added to their picture in the hallway! It’s just for bragging rights! ?Classroom compliments and rewards: Use as part of your classroom behavior plan When the entire class does well, give them a compliment and add something to your class jar/chart/poster/etc.
