Since its announcement, there have been several conversations on social media concerning this initiative, with the younger generation harshly denouncing it. According to them, Rs. 200 crore is a substantial sum of money that might have been used to address other pressing societal challenges. While this is true, we cannot dispute that Sardar Patel had big hopes for India after independence and that if he had lived, India would have been in a completely different world: a better and more wealthy one. 3. Mahatma Gandhi had a significant effect on Sardar Patel. He fought for India’s independence. He established the peasant movement in many districts of Gujarat and championed the farmers’ cause against the British’s harsh taxation. In 1931, he was elected president of the India National Congress. He was one of the most significant leaders of the Freedom Movement, taking part in the Salt Satyagraha, Civil Disobedience Movement, and Quit India Movement. Sardar Patel was also a pro-private enterprise instead of Nehru’s preference for the public sector. Hence, he was friendly with several prominent Indian businesspeople, as mentioned in the Sardar Patel biography.  His perspectives on Indian business are still relevant in today’s India.Sardar Patel was chosen as the deputy prime minister for the country’s home ministry after independence in 1947. He assumed the deputy prime minister position during a pivotal juncture in Indian history. He had a vision for India from the beginning, wanting to unite the country. He played a crucial role in bringing the 565 self-governing princely states and territories into the Indian federation as the country’s first Home Minister. To the surprise of his detractors and other politicians, he produced a new map of India almost a year later, including every princely state into the Indian union and thereby paving the road for cultural unification. No surprise, NarendraModi has often maintained that if Patel had been the first Prime Minister, the Indian economy would have been quite different. He was, without a doubt, the father of modern India. Unfortunately, he only survived for three years after the country gained independence. With his vision for modern India, this man of iron would have pushed India into the ranks of the world’s most industrialised nations if he had lived. We salute India’s greatness.
