  1. Research into Hair and Make-Up

  2. MAKE - UP

  3. SET UP #1 Set Up 1 • Our first set-up revolves around hanging cd's that reflect light and give the set up a silver-coloured theme. • The hair and makeupin this set up should accompany the themes of silver coloursand reflections. The look should also be inspired by '90s trends, as it would accompany her '90s inspired costumes. • Visible lip liner • Emphasis on the sparkly / silver colouredeyeshadow • Black eyeliner on waterline / possibly a winged look • Lipglossand highlighter - to emphasise the theme of reflections.

  4. SET UP #2 Set Up 2 • The second set-up involves two singers singing to each other through a mirror, as they lie on a dark floor. This set up reflects the music video's themes of moodiness and reflections. • The male singer would not be wearing any makeup, but the female singer would be wearing dark / shimmery make-up, influenced by '90s trends. • Emphasis on dark/smudged eyeliner • Slight hint of light / glittery eyeshadow • Dark (preferably thin) eyebrows • Lip gloss with a dark lipliner • Emphasis on contour / bronzer

  5. SET UP #3 Set Up 3 • The third set-up is a dance set up, which includes the main female singer and the two back-up dancers. The theme of this set up is moody weather (thunderstorms / rain). Therefore, I think that the dancers – as well as the singer, should have a "wet" make up look, and wear slightly dark make-up. • The "wet" look, hinting at the fact that they are dancing in the rain/thunderstorms, would be achieved through using a lip gloss, face mist / setting spray, and liquid highlighter on the performers. • Light eyeshadow and black eyeliner.

  6. Set Up 4 SET UP #4 • The fourth set-up is also a dance set up, however it is located outside during the day. Ideally, the shot would feature a moody/cloudy sky behind a chain linked fence, where the main singer and two dancers are performing. • Similar to the other dancing set-up, this set-up revolves around the theme of intense, moodyweather. Therefore, the make-up look shouldmatch the same dark colour palette of the shot. • Dark, winged eyeshadow. • Dark lipliner with a lighter lip colour. • Emphasis on contouring the dimensions of her face.

  7. SET UP #6 Set Up 5 and 6 • The fifth and sixth set up both allude to religious themes. Therefore, the make-up looks for these two set ups would be similar – both incorporating light eyeshadow colours, and the use of shimmery products. SET UP #5 • "Glossy" eyeshadow • Light eyebrows / lips • Emphasis on highlighter on higher areas of the face

  8. HAIR

  9. DANCE SET - UPS • The set-ups that involve a lot of movement should feature hairstyles that are secure – tied up in some way. • Braided hairstyles • Hair partially braided and in one or two buns • Hair half-up/half-down • Secured with a matching bandana

  10. • In the set-ups that include more religious connotations – including themes of reflection and light, I would imagine that the main singer's hair is more natural , and not completely tied up. Because it takes quite a long time and a lot of precision to do a hairstyle on our main singer's hair – since it is very curly and textured, we need to keep in mind that we can only really stick to one hairstyle (she will do this hairstyle herself in preparation before the shoot day). • However, to emphasize the difference between these set-ups to and the dancing set ups, I think we will let all her hair down in braids – and not tie it up.
