  2. Start New Presentation • Click on View/Toolbar • Click on Standard • Click on Formatting • Click on first rectangle and add title • Click on second rectangle and add either • Subtitle • Your name • Or both

  3. Adding Slides • Click on New Slide at the upper right corner • May also go to Insert/New Slide • On the right of screen choose Slide Layout • Repeat operation every time you want to add a slide

  4. Spell Checking • Go to Tools/Spelling • Misspelled words • Underlined in red • Left click on the word • Spelling options appear • Choose correct option

  5. Adding Pictures from Clip Art • Click on Insert • Choose pictures • Choose Clip Art • Type what you want to search for • Click on the picture you want • A menu will show • Choose insert • Place picture where you want

  6. Adding Picture- Other Source • If the picture is in a file/folder in the computer • Click Insert/Picture/From File • Choose File/picture • If from the Internet • Find picture • Right Click copy • Go back to presentation • Right click paste

  7. Transitions • Click Slide Show • Click Transition • Menu appears on right hand side • Choose • Transition speed • Advance slide - mouse click/automatic • Apply to a slide or all slides

  8. Remember • Text should be • Words • Ideas • Phrases • Presentations are presented • Do not overkill special effects

  9. What Are Special Effects? • Background colors • Slide designs • Slide layouts • Transitions • Sounds • Narrations • Music • Moving objects

  10. Background Colors • Click Format • Click Background • Under the design click arrow down • Choose more colors shows color wheel • Click on desired color • Clicking on fill effects has textures, and other color effects • Apply to all or selected slide

  11. Slide Designs • Click Format • Click Slide Design • On the right of slide • Choose desired design • Apply to all or to selected slides • Not all designs are appropriate • Remember, audience is viewing

  12. Slide Layouts • Click Format • Click Slide Layout • Choose desired layout • Use if adding multiple text and objects • Remember, less is more • Too much distracts from presentation

  13. Sounds • Click Slide Show • Slide Transition • Under Modify Transition • Click arrow down on Sound • Choose Sound • Choose if loop sound until next sound if desired • May add other sounds from file

  14. Narrations • Click Insert • Click Movies and Sounds • Click record sound • Sound is inserted after recorded • A speaker icon shows sound was added

  15. Music • Click Insert • Click Movies and Sounds • Click play CD audio track • Warning, CD must be in when playing the presentation

  16. Moving Objects • Insert Object • Click Slide Show • Choose Custom Animation • Click Add Effect • Choose how object • Enters • Exits
