  3. What are QR Codes? • Quick Response Codes • Can be used for URL, Text, Phone number, Pictures, Messages, etc.

  4. How-To • Sign into Edmodo. Class Code is tsp3b8 • Go to http://qrcode.kaywa.com/ (Link in Edmodo)

  5. FAQ • It’s Free! • No sign up necessary. • What you miss by not signing up is lack of control. • Must download App on smartphone. • Keep the QR code larger so all electronics can read. • Max of 7,000 characters. • No direct audio files.

  6. Communication and Collaboration • Have QR codes posted outside your room to give parents and students information on how to communicate with you. Examples: blog address, email, school phone number

  7. How To Use QR Codesin the Classroom Reading: • Stick QR codes in reading books that the children take home. These could link to online comprehension questions for parents or to websites that children can use to find out more information about the books or to related games that they can play. • Create a “choose your own adventure” story that has individual QR codes that need to be scanned in order to advance through the story. • Create links to examples of student writing. • Have students write a book review and attach to the inside cover of the book.

  8. How To Use QR Codes in the Classroom Math: • Create word problems and have QR codes for the self check. • Math centers • Homework check • Scaffolding math assignments

  9. How to Use in the Classroom Other: • Scavenger hunt • Surveys/Polling • Put supplemental information on QR codes for when students are on a field trip.
