About her: • American designer • Went to Parsons School of Design • Known for functional & flattering designs • Started by designing suits for career women in the 1970’s • Built her fashion empire in less than a decade • 2 Clothing lines: Donna Karan New York- for women DKNY- for younger women

  3. “The Seven Easy Pieces” • Coat • Jacket • Bodysuit • Blouse/ Sweater wrap/ Turtleneck • Pants • Skirts • Eveningwear

  4. DKNY Fall & Spring 2011 is inspired by the 70’s. The collection consists of shift dresses and tough menswear with a note of sharpness .

  5. DKNY Fall 2012 collection carried all black and shiny leather from head to toe giving a futuristic feel to the collection . On the other hand, their Spring 2012 is mostly in the color white & understated but same cuts from Fall 2012 collection.

  6. DKNY Fall & Spring 2013 collections are inspired by late 8o’s to early 90’s period with its oversized jackets/ blazers, loose fitted sweaters, and fitted &/or tapered bottoms.

  7. Primary characteristics that carry over from season to season: • Colors: Black, Khaki, White, & rich shades of Red • Women in suits • Tailored • Understated • Leather • Motorcycle Jackets • Polished but feminine look • Modern
