Hands-On Design Process for ACD/VPNetworks 1. Model 800-, WATS-, Megacom800- and New 800-Virtual Services for one (1) existing ACD Switch at Dallas serving 45 virtual locations as specified in VHD45 input file. 2. Model 1, 2, & 3 Optimally-Located SWs for only the optimum ACDNet with implications of additional costs of moving and loss of economy-of-scale related to labor costs.
ACD NETWORKS: The Design Process • Prepare a VHD file with valid CPE data • Prepare a NLT file with valid AL types • Select the valid tariffs for POP-SW ALs • Prepare a LINK file if required required for a mix of FX and virtual facilities • Prepare a LATA file(w/geo-zones #s) • Adjust the SDF parameters for voice and ACD applications
SDF - The ACD-Related Design Parameters • ECD ( Exp . Call Duration in Secs .) • DREQ, PEXD (Delay reqd . for design and prob . of exceeding DREQ) • Clbr (cost of labor in $/Hr.) • Frst (rate setting factor for discounts) • ACDT (ACD type to be modeled)
ACDTypes Allowed • ACDT=1 implies a traditional 7-Col. Tariff for the 800-SVC. (cf. Tbl. 8.5a) • ACDT=2 implies a 4-Col. Tariff for MegaCom800-Svc, & new 800-Svc. • ACDT=3 implies traditional 7-Col. Tariff for WATS-SVC. (cf Tbl. 8.5b) • ACDT=4 implies a 4-column tariff for virtual services using Distance Bands and not CSABands.
Voice Network Design Process 1. Open/View the input file “Files” and enter VHD45, 1 LINK17, MAPusa , TARIFF, SDF, NAME45, LATA45 and SWF in the proper cells and UPDATE. 2. Open/View the input file “SDF” and update values of ALT=1, TKLT=1, and Bal=0.1 (to size POP-ACD SW AL bundle and consider trunks for data traffic only)
3. Use SWF for 1 Existing SW located at Dallas (ID=45) for older three Virtual Svcs. & New 800 Svc. (per MUTBL1 or Tbl. E8.2 pg. 292 of Text) and ACDT=2. 4. Run COG Program and compute optimum locations for 1, 2, 3 switches. 5. Using the Optimum ACD network, model ACDNets for 1, 2 and 3 Opt. SWs. 6. Tabulate the results with Remarks.
7. Show why the ACDNet with 1 SW at Dallas and employing Megacom800-Svc. is the best solution. 8. Using the best solution, vary PEXD with range 0.1 < PEXD< 0.2 and tabulate the total monthly costs with remarks. 9. Using the best solution, vary DREQ with range 10 <DREQ< 90 Sec., tabulate the total monthly costs with remarks.
ACD/VPNet Assignments 1. Add to the MSWord document the Result- Tabulation of 4 ACDNets with your own remarks. 2. Include a DBF for Optimum ACD/VPNet 3. Include the tabulations of Total Monthly Costs for Optimum ACD/VPNet Versus PEXD and DREQ with observations about the optimum ACD/VPNet.
