    1. 1 Welcome to the Family Medicine Clerkship Course Operations Grading Site Information Scheduling Questions Thanks Linda - Good Morning. Pamela Young and myself are here to give you a brief overview about the FM Clerkship. We will cover 3 areas including 1) the key components of the clerkship curriculum 2) an introduction to the 24 training sites, and 3) an overview of the course operations. I would like to underscore that this is an overview - think of it as a movie trailer - I know that a number of you will have questions about the specifics of the sites and we encourage you to come visit us in our office so that we can address your specific questions. Thanks Linda - Good Morning. 2. 2 The clerkship is 6 weeks in length. We have 24 different training sites spanning the 5 state WWAMI region. The sites cater to somewhat unique patient populations - as you can see from the short site descriptions in your scheduling handbook - some sites exclusively serve native American populations -such as anchorage, other sites serve large immigrant populations - Renton Valley - a large Russian population, SeaMar large Latino population . Other sites have satellite rotations i.e. Yakima students spend one week in Toppenish at the Yakima Indian Health Center. Exposure to all ages including newborns, children, adolescents, adults and the geriatric pop. Patient’s SES vary significantly most sites serving a mix of Medicaid, and private insurance. The clerkship is 6 weeks in length. We have 24 different training sites spanning the 5 state WWAMI region.
