  1. Consortium Updates • Consortium approves Tampa Bay Reasonable Assurance in September 2009, for submittal to FDEP. • FDEP approves Consortium’s Reasonable Assurance and WQBEL in December 2010. • FDEP requested EPA revise Tampa Bay TMDL, with Consortium allocations in March 2011. EPA has not yet responded. • Sarasota County and Progress Energy join the Consortium.

  2. 2012 Tampa Bay Reasonable Assurance Update Requirements • Annual assessment of water quality • 5-year TN loading report (2007-2011), including all sources and hydrologic load estimates. • Update Projects Database through 2011. • Screening-level hydrologic estimate tool, which will allow NMC participants to estimate hydrologically-adjusted loads from individual sources each year.

  3. Status: Tampa Bay 2012 RA UpdateDue December 2012 • Annual water quality assessment • TBEP- complete • 2007-2011 TN, TP, TSS, BOD and hydrologic loading estimates report • TBEP Technical Support contract- ongoing • Projects Database • Database platform updated, need input from all NMC participants (Misty will contact you) • Screening-level hydrologic adjustment tool • TBEP Technical Support contract- ongoing No additional funds needed to complete these tasks.

  4. Allocation • FDEP does not require reallocation for 2012 RA update. The next RA revision is due in 2017. • Options for reallocation for NMC consideration: • Maintain existing allocations until 2017 RA. • New or expanded sources work within the existing framework to demonstrate offsets or transfers. • How to address existing ‘interim allocations’? • Conduct reallocation for all sources, based on 2007-2011 loading estimates. • Would require additional funds from NMC • May affect existing WQBEL • Other options?
