  2. Layout: • At the top of the page there is a bar that allows you to easily switch categories.Some of the examples of this are ‘Ps3’, ‘PC’, ‘TV’, ‘Reviews’ and ‘Videos’. This allows you to view stories within a particular category. This is very useful as it allows you to easily switch categories, although it’s at the top of the page it is quite small text and not everyone may notice it straight away. • Near this there is a search bar. • It has it’s five main ‘stories’ near the top of the page. It shifts to the next ‘story’ every five to six seconds. It contains a few brief points and contains links to the full story. This may change too much for someone to read. However, the user of the website is able to click on one of the stories to stop it from changing to the next one. Each featured story also features a picture relating to it. This immediately draws the attention to this part of the page. This may draw people away from some of the other aspects however. • Slightly below this is has a long list of other top stories. You are able to change this from ‘top stories’ to ‘all updates’. This means that you can choose to view either the most popular stories, or all of them.

  3. Domain: The domain uk.ign.com is a subdomain of ign.com. The top level domain .com that is used, is most likely the most well known domain. So it may be beneficial to the amount of visitors that the website receives. If someone doesn’t know the top level domain, .com is often the first one that they may try.

  4. Colour, Font and Pictures: The colour theme appears to be black, white and red. A large number of pictures are used. There are large pictures for the main stories, a banner at the top of the page and smaller pictures used for each of the other stories. The font colour is black on the white background, and white/light grey on the black background. The font is large enough for someone with less than average eyesight to be able to read. Some of the smaller text seems to have a better contrast with the background, so some of the smaller text is actually quite a lot easier to read.
