  2. “Might have it more abundantly”… Literally, that they may have abundance, or that which abounds. The word denotes that which is not absolutely essential to life, but which is superadded to make life happy. They shall not merely have life - simple, bare existence - but they shall have all those superadded things which are needful to make that life eminently blessed and happy. It would be vast mercy to keep men merely from annihilation or hell; but Jesus will give them eternal joy, peace, the society of the blessed, and all those exalted means of felicity which are prepared for them in the world of glory.   3. What Will NOT Provide The Abundant Life Just living. Ecclesiastes 1:2-11 Knowledge and wisdom. Ecclesiastes 1:12-18 Pleasure. Ecclesiastes 2:1-11 Culture or wealth.1 Kings 10:27; cf. verse 21; Ecclesiastes 5:10;cf. 1 Kings 8:62

  4. Things That WILL Provide The Abundant Life… This Side Of Eternity Live in the present.Ecclesiastes 7:8-9; James 4:13-14 Good friends and good food.cf. Ecclesiastes 9:7-8 A good wife/ husband. Ecclesiastes 9:9 Proverbs 31; Proverbs 12:4; 21:9 Doing a good job. Ecclesiastes 9:10 Accept without complaint that “life is not always fair.” Ecclesiastes 9:11-12; Philippians 4:13

The Abundant Life Jesus Spoke Of…Found On The Other Side Of Eternity John 10:10 “I came that they may have life, and may have (it) abundantly.” No real substance to life here.Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 Abundant life is eternal life “in Christ.”1 John 5:11-12 Love of God makes eternal life “in Christ” possible. John 3:16; 3:36

  6. The Abundant Life The Abundant life is “in Christ.”1 Timothy 4:8, “for bodily exercise is profitable for a little; but godliness is profitable for all things, having promise of the life which now is, and of that which is to come.”
