Astute- Shrewd and crafty • The accountant was very astute when it came to dealing with the IRS.
Consult- to seek advice from or refer to • Many people today consult WebMD when they get sick or want to get more information about disease or diagnosis.
Docile- easily taught or managed or obedient • Since Labrador retrievers are docile, they make good seeing-eye dogs.
Enlighten- to instruct spiritually or intellectually • The goal of the advertising campaign is to enlighten the world about the health risks associated with fast food.
Illiterate-unable to read or write or having little or no education • The migrant farm workers‘ children were illiterate because they never stayed in one place long enough to get an education.
Mentor- a trusted friend, guide, couch, or tutor. • Under the influence of her mentor and role model, she learned how to set and achieve goals.
