  3. “What is our activity?” • Dance:expression through movement, usually set to music in order to tell a story or express an emotion

  4. “How is it levelled?” • Levelled Based On: • Age/Grade Groups • Student Goals

  5. “Clothing Choices” • No hats, jewellery, accessories, etc • No jacket required • Looser pants recommended • Fitted, flat running shoes required

  6. “Stretching and Preparation” • Legs: • Behind the Knee Hamstring Stretch • Torso: • Side, Middle and Back Stretch • Arm: • Simple Arm Circles (to limber up the arms)

  7. “Consumption” • Hydration: • After the workout, drink approx. 125ml of water • Calories: • Daily Calories: 1600 to 2500 calories • Calories before activity: 100 calories (small snack)

  8. “Best Types of Energy” • 35-40min before workout, eat sugars and carbs. • Glucose: a main source of sugar in living beings • Carbohydrate: a food class, starches and sugars

  9. “Vitamins” • Calcium • Vitamin E • Protein • Vitamin D • Iron

  10. “What does it do to you?” • These activities can affect you body in many ways: • Perspiration • Heart Rate Increase • Breathing Rate Increase

  11. “What does it do for you?” • These activities can be very beneficial for your body: • Strengthens Muscles • Improves Cardiovascular Health • Improves Respiratory Health

  16. “Our Thoughts: Grades 1-4” • Females were naturally more flexible than the males • Grades enjoyed the range of dancing activities • Revised routines based on level of enthusiasm • The target heart rate (133-130b/min) was reached • The resting heartbeat was approximately 103b/min

  17. “Our Thoughts: Grades 5-8” • The males were more excited to perform the activities • Experienced difficulty meeting requirements • Revised instructions based on activity observations • The target heart rate (130-115b/min) was reached • The student’s resting heartbeats were approx. 102b/min

  18. “Conclusion” • Our activity has been revised based on observations • Our activities provide realistic goals for age groups • Activities promote healthier lifestyle choices
