Some of the critical issues we face with our children and our families • CHILDRENS ISSUES • Education • - Have no or little knowledge • of how to use/play with • equipment • Behaviour problems • - Low self esteem/withdrawn • - Disruptive behaviour/anger • problems • PARENT ISSUES • - High unemployment • - Lack of parenting skills • - Low self esteem and • confidence • - Breakdown of family unit

  7. Methods used by teachers to draw out human values • Develop a caring and trusting • relationship • Human values is not a • separate subject that we • teach it is woven into the • early childhood curriculum • Positive descriptive praise • Good choices

Methods used to support Vivienne parents and other parents at our preschool • Developing trusting relationships • Encouraged parents to spend time with their children at the preschool • Newsletters sent out to parents • suggesting ways they can practice • human values in their home • environment • Trips/Workshops/Parent days– • teachers work alongside parents • offering guidance and support

  15. The impact on Vivienne’s family • Vivienne’s parents can see the changes occurring in her. This • has developed their awareness of the wonders of human values • Vivienne’s parents have become more interested and involved in • her learning and development. Parenting skills have developed • The language of values is now spoken in their home • Mum is now working. Dad involved in Vivienne’s education more • Changes to their family - Happy family with values

  16. Sathya Sai Education In Human Values Research has shown that the first seven years of a child’s development is very important. Research has also proven if children don’t learn empathy before the age of seven they may never learn it Set up more Sathya Sai preschools around the world
