Project and Personal Overview • Target: Patients in ICU suffering from dry eyes require artificial tear at regular intervals • A device which can be easily positioned around the eye socket and will release drops in a dispersed manner at regular time intervals • Personal Task : • Device a circuit which will allow the user to control the time intervals for delivery • Research various ways to establish a link between the circuit and the delivery component along with the other members • Calibrate different values of the circuit to make the control user friendly • Model the control component so that it can be directly used by the user
Acheivements and Goals Acheivements : The principle behind the circuit has been designed and tested Using any timer chip in astable mode of operation and using a potentiometer to control the interval of delivery • Information on electronic injectors for engines and electronic valves are gathered - Clippard • The electronic valve mechanism can be either charge induced or through on and off mode. • Goals : Calibrate different values for potentiometers and resistors to make it user friendly. • The model should be built around the circuit and needs to be sturdy • Practical building problems like linking the potentiometer to the knob • Milestone: 2/1/05 – Decipher and order parts • 3/1/05 – working circuit and valve- Calibrated • 3/15/05 – fully developed control and link
