Communication • It is very important that home/school communication be maintained! One of the best ways to communicate with me is by email: hvazquez@cvusd.k12.ca.us • Aeries (ABI) is also available for you to check your student’s grades and assignment completion as well. Dates To Remember • Minimum Day 9/17 (Staff Development Day) • October 7 – 10 Minimum Days (Parent/Teacher Conferences) • October 7 & 8 Conferences from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. • October 9 & 10 Conferences from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. • Students get out at 12:05 PM • No school for students on October 11 • PTA Dance – October 4 • Don’t forget to join the PTA - Only $6 • Otherwise Dance admission is $6
Academic Agenda & Study Habits Students expected to: • Comply with Falcon Standards • Be Prepared with Materials & Completed Homework • Filling in Agenda with assignments/projects daily • Daily Parent signature Communication about missing assignments will be made directly in the agenda book (Yellow Communication Card). Students will be given detention if there are excessive missing homework assignments.

District Benchmark Exams • District Benchmarks Exams will be given quarterly. They cover the Common Core standards learned in that grading period, as well as review any key standards from previous grading periods.
Binders • White binders need to be at school every day. • Communication cards stapled in the agenda. • Binders should stay free of writing, stickers, photos, etc. • Agenda should be in binder at all times.

Materials Needed Below are items you will need this year for 6th grade English and History. • Two single subject spiral notebooks (one for English and one for History). • Glue sticks • Pencils (Always have several) • Highlighter • Red pens (for correcting) • Colored pencils • Loose leaf college ruled paper
