  5. Science Fiction • A type of fiction that is based on real or imagined scientific and technological advancements. Sometimes set in futuristic worlds or on other planets and may include time travel or extraterrestrial beings. • Examples: • H. G. Elements of Fantasy • Plot is a natural sequence often based on birth, growth, and death • Action is based on tradition instead of personal motivation • Usually ends with “Happily ever after” • Set in natural surrounding • Magic explains the unexplained • Characters include mythical creatures • Theme focuses on human nature
