  1. University of Rhode Island Energy Performance Contract July 2007 through April 2009 Examples of projects undertaken in our $18.1 million energy conservation and efficiency initiative

  2. SAMPLE OF BUILDING IMPROVEMENTS Post-Installation Photo Pre-Installation Photo Keaney Gymnasium The old single pane glass with broken seals caused cold drafts and heat loss during winter. New high-efficiency window systems improve efficiency, comfort and light control.

  3. SAMPLE OF BUILDING IMPROVEMENTS Pre-Installation Photo Post-Installation Photo Keaney Gymnasium The old gymnasium lighting was inefficient and needed to stay on continuously. New lighting with automatic controls saves 71% in electricity use and improves lighting.

  4. SAMPLE OF BUILDING IMPROVEMENTS Pre-Installation Photo Post-Installation Photo Tootell Aquatics Center The URI Aquatics Center previously had pools open to the atmosphere when not in use after hours. Automatic pool covers were installed. Savings generated by this measure equated to approx. 560,000 gallons of water and over 7,000,000 lbs of steam. A reduction of chemicals for water treatment are also anticipated due to the reduced evaporation component.

  5. SAMPLE OF BUILDING IMPROVEMENTS Post-Installation Photo Pre-Installation Photo Narragansett Bay Campus At the Narragansett Bay Campus The savings generated by the project enabled the University to replace a failed chiller and heating system at the Coastal Institute. This allowed asset protection funding to be redirected to other critical projects.

  6. SAMPLE OF BUILDING IMPROVEMENTS Pre-Installation Photo Post-Installation Photo Providence Campus New entrance created to the upper auditorium. This allowed direct access to the auditorium and separation from the student lounge allowing reduced run time of the air handlers serving this area.
