2. The narrative that is given to us is excitement and uplifting . It’s a thriller so it includes loud upbeat music , high key lighting, some sort of big vehicle, in this case it’s an aeroplane. From the first introduction we are introduced to many different planes, different shapes and sizes. From this we assume that the rest will continue with the use of planes but maybe something to go wrong and a big crash, or it will be used to fight and chase someone or something. Near the end of the scenetheman mentions ‘this is the day I died’ and he says this while falling out of a plane, which suggests to the audience the man dies and becomes and ghost which would then imply the ghost symbol of the plane. What narrative is given to us, and from this what do we expect the rest of the films narrative will be from the little information we have seen?

3. The opening of this film at the start is suitable for children as it is not inappropriate or scary but probably aimed more towards adults or young adults as the film goes on. Based on previous thrillers it is known that they become more mature and for adult nature. Thrillers can be confusing and have plot twists that can be confusing for children. Based on what the mans dialogue is about, he is talking about ghosts and hunting the living which could develop into becoming more scary and haunting which children may find disturbing. Who is the target audience for this film, how do we know this from the opening scene?

4. The genre of the film is thriller. Key conventions used is non dietetic sound, the msuic of the scene starts less dramatic and upbeat and then changes to dramatic and exciting. It adds effect as the msuic increases when the man is flying around which makes the clip enjoyable. The genre is thiller as it is intriguing and adventurous but also somewhat suspense at times What is the genre of the film set up in the opening scene? What key conventions have been used?

5. How many characters are introduced and what do we know about them? How do we know this about them from the use of technical aspects? We are introduced to who we assume to be the main character. He is the only one we are introduced and the camera clearly shows him. The camera films and tracks him as he flies around in a plane. Based off the introduction there is a lot of planes involved and the camera shows them in close up shots which connotes they have a meaning and purpose. Technical aspects show the main character in high key lighting and close up shots. We get the impression, based of what we have seen of him, that the man is upbeat, happy and playful. When he speaks, it is based on ghost so it implies he has maybe died or is about to die and then wants to haunt the living people still, as he feels that is his purpose. This gives off the impression he may have slight mental health issues and get pleasure from being psychopathic

6. Sound used in the opening sequence The sound used in the opening scene start as quite non diegetic msuic and over the top of that is dialogue from a male voice. We assume the dialogue is coming from the man who is featured in the opening scene and stalking on behalf of himself. As well as this the dialogue over then dietetic music is heard over montage clips. It is short cut edits of different perspectives and things while dialogue is happening about the events taking place. Sound effects increase when the plane is flying and gets closer to the camera which adds dramatic effect The non dietetic music increases when the man is seen flying which builds the suspense and adventure and adds a lighthearted fun feeling. Sound in a thriller film is effective as it adds the adventure and thrillfeelingto the film. It adds the suspense feeling and the idea of what is about to happen. It drawers the audience in and makes it more enjoyable

Camera work used in opening sequence - Opens with panning of different planes with low key lighting over them - Medium shots of planes - Close up shots in the cockpit of the plane - implies the plane has importance and symbolises something - POV shot of him in plane - makes audience feel there and in the plane - Close up shot of his face when he is inside flying - shows his facial expression and him having fun - Tracking of plane in sky - shows the location and setting - Worms eye view of man falling from sky out of plane - adds drastic effect and concern - Establishing shot of the view and location -sets the scene - Close up shot of ghost symbol on side of plane as man dialogues “I became a ghost” - end of cliff hanger and makes audience wonder what meaning it has
