Overall ERIC-PPCI study design summary STEMI PATIENT ELIGIBLE FOR PPCI PPCI centre RANDOMISATION 1:1 RIC 4x5 min arm cuff 200mmHg inflations/deflations SHAM RIC 4x5 min arm cuff 10mmHg inflations/deflations PPCI PROCEDURE 1xblood sample taken (hsTropT, CK-MB) Cardiac catheter lab POST-PPCI 1xblood sample at 6, 12, 24 and 48 hrs post PPCI (hsTropT, CK-MB) Cardiac MRI in first week post-PPCI (10 selected sites) Coronary care unit PATIENT DISCHARGED CARDIOLOGY OUTPATIENT APPOINTMENT (6-8 weeks) Any primary events at 30 days (CV death and HHF) Outpatient CARDIAC MRI AT 6 MONTHS Follow-up Cardiac MRI (10 selected sites) Outpatient PATIENT REVIEW AT 12 MONTHS Any primary events at one year (CV death and HHF) Patient discharged from study Outpatient
