Finishing Touches HAIR Ladies – Whether you wear your hair in a style that is natural, chemically treated, long, short or weaved… The look should be clean, neat and a good match for the company’s corporate culture. Do your homework to find out about the potential company’s fashion expectations. To Be Safe: Save bright colors for the weekend, or well after you’ve received the position you’re applying for. Gentlemen – Whether you wear your hair bald, faded, as an afro, braided or in dreadlocks… Your look should be clean, neat and appropriate for the company’s corporate culture. Take a look to find out their expectations when it comes to facial hair. To Be Safe: Save the geometric cutout designs, initials, artistic parts, and other extras for the weekend - or well after you’ve received the position you’re applying for. MAKEUP “Less is best” Learn the difference between day and night makeup. Here are a few tips: Foundations that match your skin tone, natural colors for eyelids, 1 coat of mascara, lip gloss for shine, and a hint of blush make for a good “day face.” Bright colored eye shadow and liners, intense blush, ruby-red lipsticks do their best work when you’re hanging out with friends or on a date “in the evening” – well after the interview! EXTRAS (Tattoos, piercings, men’s earrings) This goes back to doing your homework about the company’s corporate culture. Even if they are fairly liberal, cover up tats and remove visible piercings and men’s earrings for the interview. It may be just fine for you to wear them to work – after you’ve gotten the job! But, do yourself a favor by getting the job first!
