  2. Psalms 23:1-3 • 1 The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not be in want. • 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures,        he leads me beside quiet waters, • 3 he restores my soul.        He guides me in paths of righteousness        for his name’s sake. (Psa 23:2-3)

  3. Psalms 23 • Rest. “He makes me to lie down.” • Refreshment. “He leads me beside quiet waters.” • The sheep follow because they know the shepherd's voice. • The still water speaks of refreshment. • Restoration: “He restores my soul

The Lord is My Shepherd • Redirection: “He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.” • 10 All the ways of the LORD are loving and faithfull for those who ` keep the demands of his covenant(Psa 25:10). • 17 When Pharaoh let the people go, God did not lead them on the road through the Philistine country, though that was shorter. For God said, “If they face war, they might change their minds and return to Egypt.” (Exod 13:17)
