The offending party may pressure the employee not to say anything about the matter and not to take the matter to higher levels within the organization. Steven Mintz, aka Ethics Sage, provides advice on how to deal with the ethical dilemma in a manner that protects the employee and, at the same. Steven Mintz, aka Ethics Sage, is a professor in the Orfalea College of Business at the California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo. Dr. Mintz teaches ethics and has written two textbooks on ethics in accounting. The latest is Ethical Obligations and Decision Making in Accounting: Text and Cases. The second edition of the book was published by McGraw-Hill Irwin and has a 2011 copyright date. It is used by about 50 colleges and universities. Dr. Mintz has written more than 20 papers on ethics related matters, develops continuing education and ethics training programs for companies and government agencies, and he is a frequent speaker on ethics.
