Bible: A Sacred Book The Bible is a Sacred Book and should be treated with reverence. Always keep it in a special place. Where are you going to place it in your classroom?
God’s Living Word God speaks to us each time we read from the Bible or hear someone else reading from the Bible. We call it the Word of God because the Word is alive as we hear it. God is speaking to our hearts as we listen and read.
Contents Page Go to contents page- • Look at the Old Testament (pre-Christian) books in various groupings. • Look at New Testament books-Gospels, Acts, letters, Revelations.
Bible Search No. 1 • Find the page number for The Book of Psalms in the contents page under the list of Books from the Old Testament. • Go to that page in the Bible. • Look at the style of writing, e.g. poetry, song, emotion.
Bible Search No. 2 • Find the page number for Gospel of St Luke in the contents page under the list of Books from the New Testament. • The Gospel of St Luke. Look at the style-story/narrative form.
Bible Search No. 3 • Find the page number for the Letter of St James in the contents page under the list of Books from the New Testament. • The letter of James. Look at the style-letter form.
Finding Chapter and Verse Just like most other books, each book of the Bible is divided into Chapters and Verses. Open up any Book in the Bible: (i) Chapters are indicated by the large numbers (ii)Verses are indicated by the small numbers in each chapter.
