  1. Pocahontas- • Saved Jamestown from a long difficult winter; was disowned by her father; married John Rolfe and moved to England

  2. John Rolfe- • The husband of Pocahontas; founded the crop of tobacco and made lots of money in Virginia

  3. John White- • A mapmaker and an artist • Led the Colony at Roanoke • Came back to a deserted town • “Croatoan” carved onto a tree

  4. John Smith- Captain of the Jamestown settlement Was saved by Pocohontas

  5. Powhatan- • Chief of the Powhatan People in the Virginia area; encountered the Jamestown Settlers
