METHOD FOR POLICY MAKING The following documents were to be submitted to insure cattle. • Age of the cattle. • The cattle has to be inspected and certified by a Veterinary doctor. • The animal has to be Ear tagged by the Veterinary doctor. • The photo of the animal showing the Ear tag and the owner of the animal.

PROCESS • Assignment of SKDRDP Puttur office as the Nodal office. • Awareness about the cattle Insurance program. • Presence of the dairy officers at all the project offices. • Allocation of premium amount along with the loan amount if necessitated. • Provision of the list of beneficiaries. • Insuring the animal. • Premium payment to Insurance Company.

  7. SETTLEMENT PROCESS • Documents have to be submitted. • The death of an animal has to be certified by the Veterinary doctor. • The photo of the animal with the ear tag and the owner of the animal. • Tag of the animal • Copy of the policy certificate.

PROCESS • The proposal form would be filled by the field animator and the demand draft of the premium amount favoring the assigned LIC office would be taken by the field animator and submitted to the respective SKDRDP Project office. • The Office staff at Project office would fill in the details in the software and prepare the back up of the software. • The proposal forms, premium amount, software back up and the printed statement of the software would be sent to the assigned LIC office on the same day. • Any claim settlement would be considered from the day of the registration in the software.

SETTLEMENT PROCESS In the case of any claims, the Field animator would send the following details to the LIC office within 10 days of the claim • Claim form • Death certificate • Copy of the Policy certificate • Promissory note from nominee • Promissory note from field animator • Doctor certificate
