2. Eco Code It’s good to recycle the things that we use, From papers to bottles and boxes for shoes Wasting food is a sin, Please don’t throw it in the bin. Use both sides of the piece of paper, Don’t need it now? Save it for later. Don’t drive to school, just walk or cycle Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. Bonnyrigg is cool, we are an Eco School!

3. What We Do • Organise litter picking • Organise and complete a Waste audit • Organise Eco Week • Have weekly meetings • Work towards achieving a Green Flag • Have rag bag appeals • Encourage the school to be Eco

4. Green Flag We have our Bronze and Silver awards but we are now very close to applying for our GREEN FLAG!

6. Litter • Share the litter rap with the school • Bins in MUGA, field, middle playground and in the atriums near exit doors • Have the back of the bin covered so litter doesn’t blow out • Have a litter picking rota • Rewards for those who put their litter in the bin

7. Energy • To make a list of all the problems with taps, toilets and sinks in the school. Give the list to the janitor • To make a list of all doors and windows that have drafts and give it to the janitor • Make sure all blinds work and are closed at night • Know our schools energy performance rating • Turn electrical equipment off when not used. Each class has a monitor

8. Sustaining Our World • Whole School takes part in Fair trade week • Become a Rights Respecting School • P5 set up link with school in India • Teach the school about their carbon footprint
