Patient History 76 Year Old Caucasian Female Hypertension Controlled by Meds History of Melanoma (96 and 00) on Upper Lip and Upper Left Shoulder C. diff Diagnosed in Aug 2010 – Controlled by Flagyl Cataract Surgery in Both Eyes in 2009 History of Hernias Allergic to Penicillin and Sulfa Drugs Presented to General Clinic for Periodic Diagnosis

  3. Description of Lesion Patient presents with two small, blue lesions on the Maxillary buccal mucosa in the molar area. The patient has been told of these areas before and a note in the patient’s chart from 2004 attributes it to cheek biting. The patient is asymptomatic. The lesions are flat and circular with relatively well-defined borders located within the epithelium. The lesions appear to be approximately 2-3 mm in diameter.

  4. Patient Dialogue Have you ever noticed these blue lesions, especially if they have changed shape or size? (No) How long have these blue lesions been present? (I don’t know) Did the upper left molars have amalgam restorations prior to extraction? (Yes) When was the last time you were in to see a doctor for a melanoma check? (September 2010) How did the check-up by the physician go? (Everything was normal)
