  2. LTO Mission Statement The mission of the Learning and Teaching Office is to provide professional development in teaching for faculty at all stages of their careers. To achieve this, the LTO provides services and programs that are focused on: • improving student learning • addressing diversity through appropriate teaching methods • engaging faculty in interdisciplinary experiences • strengthening the connection between teaching and research

The University Teaching Development Program • Winter term, Wednesdays 12-2pm • Workshops (open to community and program specific): • Teaching Large Classes, Active Learning, Assessment and Grading, Learning Styles, Teaching Dossier…. • Instructional Skills Workshops: • Review basic ideas about teaching, check current practices, try new instructional strategies and techniques within the safe environment of the small group • Upcoming workshop Feb 22, 23, 24, 2012, (8:30 – 4:30 pm) • Preparation of a Teaching Dossier
