Instructions-Teacher In this activity students will learn about Hawaiian Sea Turtles. Including the different varieties of sea turtles, where they live, what they eat, predators, and protection of the Hawaiian Sea Turtles. They will explore several different websites, participate in an online story, and share what they learned to the class. These activities meet the Ohio Early Learning Content Standards in Science and Language Arts. This activity may be completed in small group/or individual settings

Steps • Pre-Assessment complete KWL Chart • View images and video of sea turtles • Explore the different websites on sea turtles with an adult • Play the interactive game • Add to A Honu’s Journey by dictating story to an adult • Post-Assessment finish adding to the KWL chart • Design a postage stamp of a sea turtle • Share what you learned with the class

Writing Activity We will now be writing a story about a Honu. As you are telling your part of the story to your teacher/parent please use/share some of the information that you have learned about sea turtles while dictating your story to the teacher/parent. • A Honu's Journey Click Here
Post-Assessment • Take a moment with the teacher/parent and fill in the remainder of the KWL chart on the next slide.
Design a Stamp • Use a full piece of paper and design a postage stamp with a sea turtle on it. • Use all the information and pictures that you have seen in the design of your stamp
Reflection • Share your postage stamp and the information that you have learned with the class. • As a class create a chart listing all the information gathered about Hawaiian Sea Turtles.
