  5. Both! Rivers sometimes flood and lives are lost. But they are essential for water supplies Rivers

  6. Volcanoes Both! Explosions threaten lives but help make fertile soils for farmers

  7. Winds Both! Strong winds damage buildings but they also power wind turbines

  8. Glaciers Both! Avalanches threaten lives but snow and ice create an environment for tourism
