WHERE IT ALL BEGANHERMANN HOSPITAL • October 1914: George Hermann dies • Will included building charity hospital • July 1925: Herman Hospital opens doors • Located in “woods” south of downtown • Fence needed to keep out coyotes & wolves • Only Cullen Pavillion existed • 1943-1960s: Baylor students rotated at Hermann Hospital • 1971: Hermann becomes main teaching hospital of UT-Houston • 1972: Jones Pavillion is built to connect with the MSB • 1990: Lyndon B. Johnson General Hospital partners with UT-Houston
