Street Pastors is growing… 2003 started by Rev Les Isaac and Ascension Trust in London Now over 25 of 30 London boroughs Over 200 UK areas + International Southern Network – IOW, Southampton, Weymouth, Gosport, Swindon, Fairoak, Portsmouth Portsmouth - launched June 2007 Portsmouth 2010 – Safe Space launched

  4. How we do it? Every Friday + Saturday team of 4/5 meet at Oasis in central Portsmouth 9.30pm Team connects + prayer 10.00pm City centre street work Listen + care / Time + love Practical help /Signposting + pray 2.30 -3am return to Oasis debrief and pray together “Whenever you did one of these things to someone overlooked or ignored, that was me – you did it to me” Matthew 25.40

Recruit and train 20+ Street Pastors and Prayer Pastors annually • Commit for 2 years • 12 sessions Training Jan-April • Excellent sessions from national Ascension Trust, local specialist agencies and church leaders • 1 Friday or Saturday a month in teams of 4/5 from 10-3am Training + commitment?

  6. Impact - in 3 years! 30% less offences in Guildhall Walk 11,500 contacts on street 300 calmed aggressive situations 950 helped in vulnerable situations 4500 bottles picked up 500 pairs of flip flops given out! Increasing number faith conversations every night

  7. A new project aimed at reducing admissions to A & E . • Managed by Street Pastors. • Supported by the Safer Portsmouth Partnership. • Open 11pm to 4am Friday and Saturday Nights in Guildhall Square
