Duties of Membership Chair • Prepare chapter membership profile • Distribute recommendation forms • Review types of memberships • Conduct election of new members • Conduct orientation for new members • Prepare initiation/reorientation ceremonies • Provide chapter with brochures for marketing • Prepare necrology report w/president • Manage membership records, etc.

  3. Classification and Eligibility Constitution 2010: An active member shall be a woman who is employed as a professional educator at the time of her election or has been retired from an educational position. Who? Where? How?

  4. Kinds of Membership • Active Members: most of our members whether or not they are retired. • Reserve Members: granted only to members unable to participate fully because of physical disability and/or geographical location. • Honorary Members: a woman not eligible for active membership who has rendered notable service to education or to women.

  5. Termination of Membership Non-payment of dues and fees Resignation: Interview reasons for dropping membership Contact member for alternatives Report of Members Dropped (Form 18-A) Death: Necrology Report (Form 2)

  6. Members can also be reinstated by a chapter receiving the request: there is no vote there is no fee Members can also transfer membership fill in Request for Transfer (Form 21) no vote, no fee International sends Official Notice of Transfer
