Organizing Your Feedback Goal of Feedback • Help the team improve their plan Suggestions • All audience members use the feedback form • Highlight what’s strong • Give specific suggestions for improvement • “What if…?” or “Have you thought about…?” work well
Processing Your Feedback • Review all feedback sheets and feedback from panelists. • Synthesize feedback for your plan: Strengths, Areas for Improvement, Solutions • Action Plan to incorporate best suggestions Note: not all feedback needs to be incorporated; utilize what makes sense to improve your plan.
Processing your Feedback Read and share feedback, and work with your team to identify: On Chart Paper
Continue to be the Spokespeople For Your New Day Today, you’ve made a clear, concise presentation of your plan Redesign Team In the coming days and weeks: Leadership Team • Integrate information about your plan into meetings, newsletters, emails, Twitter feeds, etc. – make sure everyone is in the know Teachers and Staff • Share details about your plan AND your process from here Parents, Partners, Students • Use your best messengers for each audience • Begin to broaden your outreach to additional stakeholders School Committee, Funders, Community
Tips for Sharing your Plan DO: DON’T: • Use your Elevator Message and Presentation • Be clear about the benefits and opportunities for your audience • Show how you’ll build on the best things you do now • Remind people how much input you’ve gotten and how many different people have helped develop the plan • Share your plan and the process from here • Coordinate with your district leadership on messaging • Allow time for questions – write down questions when you don’t know the answers • Hide from people or keep your plan a secret • Forget to share start and end times for the day • Assume anyone remembers what you’ve already told them • Have just one person be the messenger • Forget to use your allies and partners to build support • Give up. You’re almost there!
Building Support Planning & Resources Use Template to plan how you will share your plan with specific groups of stakeholders
Next Steps Planning • Finalize and submit your plan for SY2014-15 implementation • Plans are due on May 2nd at 5 PM • School Plan • Collaborate with District on district component (budget) • Share your plan and the process moving forwardwith key stakeholders, in order to bring them onboard
