  1. How to boss somebody! Affirmative Tú Commands

  2. Steps to Form the command • Make the tú form of the verb in the present tense. • Drop the “s” OR ANOTHER WAY TO THINK ABOUT IT • Make the él/ella/Ud. form of the verb in present tense. hablar – to speak hablas – take off “s” habla – speak!

  3. Examples of regular verbs • Mirar ¡Mira! • Estudiar ¡Estudia! • Eat the pizza! ¡_______ la pizza! • Clean your room! ¡______ tucuarto!

  4. Irregular Verbs in Tú Commands Ven – (venir) – Come! Di – (decir) – Say! Sal – (salir) – Leave! Haz – (hacer) – Do! Make! Ten – (tener) – Have! Ve - (ir) – Go! Pon – (poner) – Put! Sé – (ser) – Be! These forms are ONLY for the affirmative (or positive) commands! Vin Diesel has 10 weapons, eh?

  5. Where do I put direct object pronouns? When adding a direct object pronoun to an affirmative command ALWAYS attach it to the end of the command. Say the answer! ¡Dila! Remember: answer = la respuesta. The DOP will be “la”.

  6. When and where do I put the accent marks? If the conjugated verb form (already put in the tú command form) has 3or more syllables, you MUST put in an accent mark! Follow the natural stress rules by looking at the verb and adding the accent mark where needed. Eat the pizza! ¡Cómela! Co/me has 2 syllables. Accent has to be over the “o”. “la” is the DOP of “la pizza”

  7. Let’s Practice! - Translate • Speak! • Cut it! (the grass) • Take it out! (the trash) • Make it! (the cake) Did you remember your punctuation??
