  1. Córdoba, is a city located in the south of Spain and north of Andalucía Córdoba

  2. Different traditions, festivals and monuments make it a very interesting city, to visit.

  3. FESTIVITIES

  4. Fair of Córdoba • The fair of Córdoba, is a very important event in the city, given the number of people who gather there to dance, sing and have fun. It takes place at the end of the month and is similar to the better known fair of Seville, but there are some differences, the main one is that the one in Seville is private and in Córdoba it is public.

  5. The courtyards  The Patios Festival is held during the second and third weeks of May. Many houses in the historic center open their private patios to the public and compete in a contest. Both architectural and floral decorations are taken into account to choose the winners. It is usually very difficult and expensive to find accommodation in the city during the festival.

  6. The crosses  The May Crosses Festival takes place at the beginning of the month. For three or four days, crosses of around 3m in height are placed in many squares and streets, decorated with flowers and a contest is held to choose the most beautiful one. There is usually regional food and music near the crosses.

  7. MONUMENTS

  8. Mezquita • The “mezquita”(mosque) is one of the greatest monuments in Córdoba, both for its reputation and its beauty. • Construcion began in the eighth century. • A catholic cathedral was built inside the mosque in the sixteenth century.

  9. Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos In the southwest corner of the Old Town is the Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos, a former royal property and the headquarters of the Inquisition. • Built in 1328, it is a very important monument in the history of the city. • Many people from many countries visit this monument.

  10. Medina Azahara • One of the oldest monuments in the city. It was built by “Abderramán III” • It is located 8 km from Córdoba.

  11. Palacio de Viana • A building from the fouteenth century. • It's very nice, very large, and has a lot of courtyards. • Its last owners were the marquis and marquise of Viana.

  12. Torre Malmuerta • It was built in the early fifteenth century, on an earlier Muslim. tower. Its mission was to defend the gates of Rincon and Colodro.

  13. Roman Brigde • The Roman Bridge is located on the Guadalquivir River as it passes through Córdoba, and joins the neighborhood of Campo de la Verdad with the Cathedral Quarter. Also known as the "Old Bridge", it was the only bridge in the city until the twentieth century. 

  14. It was built in the early 1st century BC, during the period of Roman rule in Córdoba, probably replacing a more primitive of wood, it has a length of about 250 m and consists of 16 arches. The Roman bridge

  15. Martos Mill • The Martos Mill is located on the Guadalquivir River, used as a mill between the thirteenth and eighteenth centuries

  17. Corredera Square • This Square is one of the most emblematic places of the city. It is located in the city center, going down the Rodríguez Marín street, also known as “La Espartería”. It has its way in and way out through two arcs known as “high arc” and “low arc”.

  18. TENDILLAS SCUARE • The Tendillas Square is located in the centre of the city, near the ancient Roman forum.
