Today is United Methodist Student Day, one of six special Sundays observed by the UMC. Each year, more than $200,000 in United Methodist scholarship is awarded to United Methodist students at West Virginia Wesleyan College in Buckhannon. Scholarship money originates from church agencies such as the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry, the United Methodist Higher Education Foundation, the United Methodist Foundation of West Virginia, and West Virginia Wesleyan College.
