  30. Procedures Look for handouts on the counter as you walk into class, pick up any handouts Handouts Use the number on your desk to find your lab table & lab group Lab groups Passing out papers Pass papers straight back (not to neighbor)

  31. Respect Class Rules Safe Try • We must come to a consensus on what these rules mean

  32. Brainstorm Pass back the class rules worksheet & independently brainstorm 5+ ideas for each rule. Don’t cuss Don’t throw your pencil Follow all directions

  33. If you tell someone what NOT to do, there can be a lot of unanswered questions Example: Don’t throw your pencil • Can I roll it across the table to someone? • Can I toss it gently? • Can I throw an eraser since it’s not a pencil?

  34. Telling someone what to DO is much clearer • Don’t throw your pencil • Pass materials by handing them to the other person

  35. For HW: write your top 3 ideas for each rule as a POSITIVE “do” behavior Only pass materials when you are close enough to hand them to the other person

  36. Next time…. • Finish the consensus at the bottom of the worksheet. Due Monday 8-11-14

  37. Closure- out loud with neighbor • What does this picture make you think of? How does it make you feel? • What message is the artist trying to convey with this image? • Which class rule would this image apply to, and why?

  38. Work with your neighbor & write down the answers on the scratch sheet • Whisper! You don’t want to give the answer away to any other teams!
