  2. OpenEMR: Issues and Immunization • Adding Issues. • Associating Issues with Encounters. • Immunizations.

OpenEMR: Issues and Immunizations • Issues are medical, dental, surgical, allergy, or medication related. • Issues can be related to multiple encounters. • Issues list is on the right hand side of the patient summary page. • Click edit on one of the sections in the issues list to see the patient’s issues in that category. • Click add to add an issue to a section.

OpenEMR: Issues and Immunizations • Select the issue from the list, or add a new one by typing text in the box below the list. • Enter appropriate beginning and end dates and select occurrence from the drop down menu. • Clicking in the diagnosis section will bring up the search window for the proper ICD 9 code associated with the issue.

OpenEMR: Issues and Immunizations • Selecting a code from the list will close the window, and save the code in the code field. • Complete the rest of the form as necessary and click save. • Enter additional issues in the same manner. • Click back to return the patient summary page. • Click add next to the appropriate issue type.

  6. OpenEMR: Issues and Immunizations • Click on an issue to edit it. • The far right column in the issues dialogue represents the encounters associated with this issue. Click on the 0 to edit this. • Click the appropriate encounter from the link on the right, highlighting the encounter. • Click save to link issue and encounter. • Continue linking as necessary.

  7. OpenEMR: Issues and Immunizations • Click back to return to the patient summary page. • Click edit next to the immunization section. • Click inside the immunization CVX code field and search for the appropriate immunization. • Click on the immunization and enter any associated data: date, provider who administered. Save the immunization.

  8. OpenEMR: Issues and Immunizations • Return to the patient summary page to review the list of issues, immunizations, and prescriptions now added during this course.
