Why Study in America Now? • We have an exciting new president of our 200+ year old of multicultural democracy, you can learn about common law legal principles, and you can meet and get to know Americans. • We have a vibrant public intellectual discourse with many different voices participating, and students can actively engage the issues associated with the intersection of legal rights, civil liberties, and national security

  3. Summer Program • Introduction to American Legal Concepts and American History and Culture • Program directed by Harvard educated international business lawyer • Program Cost and Dates: • Cost is $3750 per student • Arrival July 11/12 2009 • Departure August 8, 2009

  4. Summer 2009 • This special summer program will • give students an overview of the American legal system, • introduce them to important concepts in American law, and • offer many interesting field trips and excursions

Academic Program Academic course: * Introduction to American Legal Concepts and American History and Culture Field trips such as: * Excursions to courts and the county jail, a law firm and major financial institutions such as the Board of Trade and the Federal Reserve Bank. Visits to cultural institutions such as: * Museums, Navy Pier, a Chicago River boat cruise, a baseball game and Six Flags Amusement park

What is included in the price? • COURSE PRICE WILL INCLUDE: • course tuition and course materials • housing in campus dormitories, plus linens • weekday food expenses • all field trip expenses (baseball game, museums, Cook County Jail, Federal and State courts, Federal Reserve Bank, Six Flags Adventure, Architectural boat cruise, Navy Pier) • transportation to and from the Chicago airport

  7. What is NOT included in the price? • Airfare to and from Chicago • Weekend meals • Personal travel expenses in Chicago • Medical insurance (required—see PDF for requirements and the following slide for a suggested provider) • Other personal expenses
