  2. PBC Meeting • Our Provincial Bargaining Committee (PBC) met on Wednesday, April 27 in Richmond • PBC has 17 members representing all regions of the province

  3. Local Tables • Bargaining now underway at 48 of 56 CUPE local tables • PBC set a goal of opening all tables by end of June.

  4. Provincial Approach • BC Public School Employers' Association (BCPSEA) has agreed to a provincial approach in K-12 support staff bargaining • Dates and format in process

  5. Provincial Summary • Healthcare, and other public sector now settled under ‘Net Zero’ mandate • Net Zero doesn’t always mean zero: BCNU settlement (3% & 3%) • Community Social Services strike vote underway (includes BCGEU & CUPE)

  6. Working Together • PBC endorsed coordination with BCTF both provincially and locally • PBC will work with CUPE groups currently not settled

  7. Essential Services • Process starts with BCTF hearings late June: CUPE will attend & monitor • CUPE Support staff process depends on outcome of BCTF process • if there is no teaching, CUPE work is not essential • PBC endorsed minimal essential services levels to build solidarity
