  2. MDE Update • Staffing • Allocations • Budgets • AMAO status • Monitoring Program • Self Evaluation • Desk Monitoring • On-site (Field Services/Title III) • GAD • Summer Workshop

  3. Staffing • Consultant • Three candidates • Interview in next 2 -3 weeks • Offer position – early/mid June • Person in place early July • Analyst • Posted • Interviews – mid June • In place – mid-July

  4. 2008 – 2009 Allocations • Preliminary allocations • Section 41 – Goal: January 2009 • Budget approval - Legislature • Title III – Goal: July 2008 • Allocation notification from USED • Based on count in SRSD – fall/spring • Pre-school – EOY SRSD report – Grade 30 AND • Students tested through ELPA test window

  5. 2008 – 2009 Allocations • Preliminary Allocations • Migrant Regular Year Programs • Allocations from USED • July/August – if we have an analyst • Final Allocations • Section 41 – January 2009 • Title III - Fall 2008 • Migrant – Summer 2008

  6. Budgets • Title III – MEGS – Consolidated Application • Admin limit of 2% including indirect • Section 41 – MEGS – Separate application

  7. AMAOs • Final calculations may be ready next week • Letters out this year • Parent notification made at end of year • Statewide system of support for those not making AMAOs

  8. Monitoring • Levels of Monitoring • Self Evaluation • Desk/Telephone Monitoring • On-site Monitoring • Conjunction with Field Services • Follow Up • Field Service Visits this year

  9. Audit Report • Response to Federal Audit • Due next week • Responses will site staff issues and plans based on our discussions here when staff is in place • Single Audit • Monitoring • Follow up to Final Expenditure Reports

  10. GAD • Available in CEPI • Special Education • Medically Fragile • ELL • No communication for ELL this year • Will approve those in the system • Next year available for delay

  11. Summer Workshop • SAVE the DATE: • August 11, 12, 13 • Lansing Center • ELLs, Reading First, High Priority Schools, School Improvement, Special Education, Math, Science, other curricular areas
