The Problems • Since Fall 2001, over 50% of students enrolled in DWRI 0093 have not succeeded (A, B, C) • Since Fall 2001, only 45% of all DCCCD students enrolled in DWRI 0093 succeeded (A,B, C) • Diverse student body makes it difficult to address individual needs • Considerable time is spent teaching and re-teaching basic skills • Instruction is inconsistent across sections • High numbers of students repeat 0091 and 0093

  3. Some Statistics • 84% DWRI retention rate. Our peers ranged from 76% to 83%. • 57% enrollee success rate (includes drops), while peers raged from 51% to 73% • For completer success rate (excludes drops), Richland had a 68% success rate and peers ranged from 67% to 89%. • Looking at all NCCBP participants, Richland scored at the 37th percentile for retention, 15th percentile for enrollee success, and 16th percentile for completer success. (2006 NCCBP)
