    2. 2 NMR with spares The idea here is to provide a basic core of N modes arranged in a form of voting configuration and spares are provided to replace failed units in the NMR core. The benefit of NMR with spares is that a voting configuration can be restored after a fault has occurred. For example, a TMR with one spare will mask two faults.

    3. 3 NMR with Spares (Cont’d) The voted output is used to identify faulty modules, which are then replaced with spares.
